ABOUT
Why do we depict unexplored phenomena in a certain way when there is insufficient evidence or sources to establish the facts? Where does our fascination with life forms, for which we have no scientific proof, come from? And what determines how we visualize these life forms, which often resemble human proportions? This dance performance will be an artistic interpretation of these questions, aiming to create an engaging experience for the audience.
Humans share a common image of what extraterrestrial life looks like: long arms and legs, large heads, and big eyes—features that closely resemble our own human proportions. While all life on Earth is based on deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), we have yet to determine what might constitute the foundation of life on other planets. Therefore, there is no scientific basis for how extraterrestrial life might appear, as we do not yet understand their ecological conditions. However, humanity's curiosity about the unknown is undeniable, and it is this curiosity that we seek to explore and express through our artistic work.
The performance will take the audience on a journey where they encounter various creatures and their behaviors, while we create atmospheric landscapes that enhance each act. This visual and interactive adventure aims to provide the audience with an experience that is both captivating and thought-provoking.

ABOUT
The performance "Jag är man, alltså dansar jag" has emerged through surprising and tumultuous meetings between three dancers and individuals who share their experiences. A journey in the joy of sharing. It's about being able to dance the way you want, about the courage to challenge yourself and given patterns. Dare to say "I am me, therefore I dance". In the many conversations and in the work on the floor, the three dancers discovered that they really had one thing in common: music and dance were very early in their lives. Early in childhood, in the family and everyday life. And for all three, dancing became something absolutely necessary in life.
Dance is often perceived as something feminine. A prejudice that stubbornly persists in our society. Boys who want to dance are not infrequently bullied and seen as a bit strange. Dare to stand up for the fact that it's fun to dance, that today requires a little extra courage from a boy. Our performance wants to show dancing as something we can all express ourselves with – men and women, boys and girls. The dancers allow us to meet three different dance cultures and dance genres, and each of the dancers simultaneously creates something very own and personal. This very feeling of being at home and familiar in one's tradition and at the same time wanting to expand the boundaries of oneself and one's art – in that paradox the three solos have emerged. So that each of them can now say: "I am me, I am a man, I dance!"
The performance "Jag är man, alltså dansar jag" which is produced by Scenkonst Sörmland in conjunction with artistic director Maria Weisby and director of operations Jörgen Lindvall. The activity was financed by the region, the county's municipalities and the State Cultural Council.
